The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Nareit) awarded Hudson Pacific Properties with its Leader in the Light Award for Best New Entry. The achievement honors excellence in producing superior measurable results in sustainability.
The 2019 Leader in the Light awards were presented to 10 REITs and one individual, and highlighted eight property sectors, including: data centers, diversified, healthcare, industrial, lodging/resorts, office, residential/apartments and retail/regional malls. This year, the Best New Entry award was introduced to the program to recognize a top-performing REIT and first-time participant.
“It is an honor to be recognized for our exceptional sustainability efforts,” said Natalie Teear, Vice President, Sustainability and Social Impact. “As we continue to add value and expand our corporate responsibility program, we are committed to finding sustainable solutions that will enhance operational efficiencies across our portfolio.”
Nareit has presented the Leader in the Light awards since 2005. The judging criteria includes the results of the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) Annual Survey, as well as other metrics. GRESB's Annual Survey measures the environmental performance of property portfolios around the world, and it is a closely monitored benchmark among many of the world's largest institutional investors.
The Leader in the Light Awards were presented in November at Nareit’s 2019 REITworld annual convention in Los Angeles.
